I loved my stay here though it was only for one night, check in was easy even though I didn’t arrive until 19.00, I was offered the opportunity to dine in the restaurant and it was carvery night, the food was plentiful and varied, I opted for the gammon which was delicious. My room was a standard double with en-suite, it overlooked the garden at the side and was very quiet. The bed was comfortable, linen was crisp and clean. Nice hospitality tray. The TV was great easy to work even for me who doesn’t watch much tv and certainly not on a modern one like this one. Bathroom was great, lovely fluffy towels and nice toiletries. I was intrigued to see there is a library in the hotel, on this occasion I didn’t have time to check it out having arrived late and leaving early the next day. Breakfast was excellent, again plenty of choice, the cooked breakfast was very high quality, being fussy about sausages I can honestly say these were very good indeed. The location is excellent, not far from all amenities and ideal for onward travel being situated near rail and bus connections. I understand there are no on site parking facilities but this wasn’t relevant to me as I was travelling onwards by train, breakfast is available anytime from 06.30 onwards. The best thing about this hotel was the staff, they couldn’t have been more helpful, efficient or cheerful.

The staff were welcoming, helpful and understanding. The room was great for the price and anytime, I needed an ironing board near midnight and got it with no hassle from the staff and I was late for breakfast and the kitchen staff Willie & Anna were both very friendly and were happy to get me some food and coffee. The receptionist gave me their charger for a few hours out of their own kindness for me headphones and the location was excellent for getting anywhere you would need to around Thurso. Would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely outstanding! My room was gorgeous with a little alcove seating area by the windows overlooking the town, and it was warm despite the -7 temperature outside. Abigail the Receptionist was incredible, so friendly and organised, and the newish barmaid/waitress in the David Attenborough Christmas jumper was an absolute joy, recommending drinks and making us welcome. In fact, all the staff were great, the venue is beautiful, it was quiet and there's a lovely restaurant on the premises. 10/10!

There was good on road parking outside the hotel. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and we were able to eat in the lounge area with our dog. There's a lovely enclosed garden for dogs to have a run with a wall high enough to keep most dogs in! It was good value for money and we'd definitely book here again.

Excellent location in town and just a short walk from the train station. The hotel retains a lot of character features. The room was small but that is what we booked so no complaints, plenty of storage. Breakfast had plenty of options but the tea was in flasks and was not up to scratch.
