I loved my stay here though it was only for one night, check in was easy even though I didn’t arrive until 19.00, I was offered the opportunity to dine in the restaurant and it was carvery night, the food was plentiful and varied, I opted for the gammon which was delicious. My room was a standard double with en-suite, it overlooked the garden at the side and was very quiet. The bed was comfortable, linen was crisp and clean. Nice hospitality tray. The TV was great easy to work even for me who doesn’t watch much tv and certainly not on a modern one like this one. Bathroom was great, lovely fluffy towels and nice toiletries. I was intrigued to see there is a library in the hotel, on this occasion I didn’t have time to check it out having arrived late and leaving early the next day. Breakfast was excellent, again plenty of choice, the cooked breakfast was very high quality, being fussy about sausages I can honestly say these were very good indeed. The location is excellent, not far from all amenities and ideal for onward travel being situated near rail and bus connections. I understand there are no on site parking facilities but this wasn’t relevant to me as I was travelling onwards by train, breakfast is available anytime from 06.30 onwards. The best thing about this hotel was the staff, they couldn’t have been more helpful, efficient or cheerful.

My recent stay at Pentland Hotel provided a generally comfortable experience, with notable strengths in room quality and connectivity, though there were some areas for improvement, particularly with the buffet breakfast. The hotel room was well-maintained and offered a comfortable setting for the duration of my stay. The bed was cozy, with high-quality linens and pillows that allowed for a restful night’s sleep. The room featured modern amenities, including a flat-screen TV, and a spacious work desk. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel’s Wi-Fi, which was fast, reliable, and accessible throughout the property. It allowed me to work efficiently. Connectivity was a crucial aspect of my stay.

We stayed here as part of our NC500 route and found it to be a great stopover. The location is convenient, though our first room faced the main road and was a bit noisy. However, the staff were happy to move us to a quieter room at the back with no fuss, which we really appreciated. The bed was comfortable, the blackout curtains were a nice touch, and the room was peaceful for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was tasty, and we especially enjoyed chatting with the lovely lady who served it. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The booking in was quick and easy. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. Loved the original features of the building. Really appreciate seeing how the other half used to live back in the day. My room was on the second floor. Very easy to find due to the signage. It was a single bed with shower over bath. The usual customary shower and hand gels, Also a hairdryer tucked away in a drawer.

Robert

Clean and tidy rooms. Pleasant staff. Decor is a little dated but everything worked and the room was very comfortable. I would not hesitate to book again. The food was also very good - excellent evening meal and breakfast.
